So I got to thinking, shock and amaze I know. The word "team" has that saying... of something like... "There is no 'I' in team."

However, there is a 'me'.

That aside, forgive me if I'm wrong, but a team is usually a group of individuals performing together to complete a task. If this is true... how is it a functional team if some of those individuals are lazy and don't put in their fair share of work?

Is it really considered a "team"?

They are the weak links and they are generally pruned.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Weak links, eh?

So now suppose the one who's created such a team... refuses to do such. What does this make him?

[identity profile] space-ripper.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
As useless as the ones who are weak.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh good. At least someone here still talks sense... Perhaps you could show me how you'd handle such a situation.

[identity profile] space-ripper.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I prefer to beat sense into the ones who aren't working.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh ho~! Bravo.

Do they learn?

[identity profile] space-ripper.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
...Most of the time. Pain tends to be an excellent motivator.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you truly such a man of action?

Such a leader? Why would any go against you?

[identity profile] space-ripper.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
The threat of betrayal is always there, but it was incredibly rare...With a single noted exception.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
An exception you say? Can I take a stab that the exception for one of your own to become stronger than you?

[identity profile] space-ripper.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
There's only one I ever trusted enough that was powerful enough to do that...and he is loyal to me and only to me.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
If that's the case, why put up with the rest of 'em?

Which reminds me!...

I was going to get your fellow's chip out. Since Gate's going on playing goodie two shoes, or whatever it is he's doing... I highly doubt he'd be up to the task... though were you still interested?

[identity profile] space-ripper.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I needed their specific expertise.

[Locked]

Quite interested. I would require a safe place for him to stay until he gained full control over his powers. He's...dangerous with them not under control.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose that can be understandable.

[Locked]

I removed Gate's chip, via file sharing... I know of the general location of it, but I'm not sure how similar a reploid's body is with that of a human.

As such, I'd offer, but I'd most likely botch it. Hm... I wonder if I could somehow convince one of the medical staff...

[identity profile] space-ripper.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
They were usually of no concern.

I'm sure there's at least one less-than-ethical doctor here...finding that one, however, may be tricky.

Perhaps I'll do a bit of searching around. Consider this a new task bestowed upon me by one as powerful as yourself. No charge needed.

Anything that will save me the work...Thank you. I suppose I will owe you a favour.

[identity profile] heroforseiryuu.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
A team works by putting their strengths together in order to perform together and complete the task. A person can be lazy if they can preform their strength when it's needed to. Usually when it comes down to having to perform an important task, the team snaps out of being 'lazy', and work their hardest. And if not... then the lazy one is usually scolded.

It can still be considered a team, just as long as those who are being lazy still give it their all when the time comes.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
So.

What you're saying is... it's okay to be lazy. Now do you say this, because you are one of those lazy members as well?

[identity profile] heroforseiryuu.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course! Just as long as your team members don't kill you for it, and you put in your worth's when the time comes.

... Is there a problem with that?

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
When the time comes.

You keep saying that. How do you know when that time has come and gone?

[identity profile] heroforseiryuu.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
For my team, we know it's time when we need to start working together as a team to successfully win against our opponent. That time isn't gone until we succeed.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
What if you're completely taken by surprise?

[identity profile] heroforseiryuu.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That's when we have to rely on each other and our strengths to pull it off! And if we're caught so much by surprise that we lose, we learn from that mistake, and try not to be so unaware of our surroundings.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Interesting. Very interesting.

[identity profile] gilded-gate.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
>You are speaking about yourself again.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course not. You know me better than that. I don't work on teams.

[identity profile] gilded-gate.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
>Your example of a lazy individual was quite reflective of you.

[identity profile] silver-reign.livejournal.com 2009-08-31 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
So you say. Though I'm always working. Just because you don't get an update every hour doesn't mean I'm not completing a task.

What brings this on?

[identity profile] hakai-aniki.livejournal.com 2009-09-01 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Hm... teams get in the way.

[identity profile] twin-sai-kame.livejournal.com 2009-09-01 07:50 am (UTC)(link)
Simple, we make up for each others flaw, and encourage each other to keep going. My brothers and I are a team, so being related can make it tough, as well as easy.
